Rocky Mount, N.C. - Senior Tiffany Bell scored the 1,000th point of her career on Wednesday night in Everett Gym, helping her Battling Bishops to a 79-53 USA South win over William Peace University. The Waldorf, Md. native knocked down the milestone jumper with 2:35 to go and became the 12th player in women's basketball history to accomplish the feat.

Bell's was one of three notable performances in the contest. Fellow senior Kourtney Salisbury notched the first double-double of her career with 18 points and 10 assists, while freshman Kenyata Harris fell just one rebound shy of the program's single-game record with an impressive 21 boards on the night.

The Pacers came out on fire in the first half, forging a 22-11 lead midway through the period. Salisbury proceeded to put the team on her back by scoring 10 of their next 13 points to pull Wesleyan to within four, 28-24, at the 4:45 mark. Junior NeTaih Davis then knocked down a trio of buckets (two assisted by Salisbury) to complete the comeback and give Wesleyan a 30-28 advantage. The Bishops would eventually hold a 32-30 lead at the break.

Wesleyan was unable to pull away early in the second half and actually saw WPU go up 52-51 on a basket by Zhana Gooden with 10:43 remaining.  Little did the Pacers know, however, that it would be their last field goal of the contest. The Bishops closed out the game with a 28-1 run, with Peace's lone point coming on a free throw with six seconds remaining.

Bell finished with 14 points, while Harris completed a double-double with 10 points of her own. Senior Shanice Goree and Davis joined them in double-figures with 16 and 13, respectively.

Wesleyan (7-10, 5-6 USA South) is back in action this weekend, traveling to Mary Baldwin on Saturday and Ferrum College on Sunday.
