Harris Earns Second Rookie of the Week Award

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its women's basketball weekly awards for February 10th, and North Carolina Wesleyan's Kenyata Harris has earned the league's Rookie of the Week award for the second time this season. Harris, a freshman guard from Raleigh, averaged a double-double of 17.0 points and 14.0 rebounds last week. Additionally, she tallied 5.3 steals and 1.3 assists per contest as the Bishops posted a 2-1 record versus USA South competition.

Harris began the week with 10 points and 21 rebounds in the Bishops' 79-53 win over William Peace. Her 21 rebounds fell just one shy of the program record of 22 set in 1986. She followed up her WPU performance with a second straight double-double, leading NCWC to an 82-59 victory at Mary Baldwin by tallying 16 points, 14 boards and seven steals. Finally, in an 86-59 loss at nationally-ranked Ferrum, Harris totaled 25 points, seven rebounds, six steals and two assists.

Congratulations Kenyata!
