Rocky Mount, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan's women's basketball team swept a pair of USA South contests over the weekend in Everett Gymnasium, downing Greensboro College by a 79-56 score on Saturday before knocking off Averett University by a 69-58 score on Sunday. The Bishops never trailed in either contest and were led by freshman Kenyata Harris, who averaged a double-double over the two-game set.

On Saturday, Wesleyan raced out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back en route to the 23-point victory. Senior Tiffany Bell led all players with 25 points, while Harris chipped in 18 points and seven rebounds. Junior NeTaih Davis notched a double-double of 10 points and 12 boards.

As a team, the Bishops shot 50 percent from the floor on the day (30-of-60).

Sunday saw NCWC forge a 36-22 lead at the break and hold on for an 11-point win. Harris' 17 points paced four Bishops in double-figures, while her 14 rebounds were a game-high. Bell finished with 16 points, and fellow seniors Shanice Goree and Monet Edwards chipped in 10 apiece.

Statistically, Wesleyan held a 52-41 advantage on the glass.

The Bishops (10-11, 8-7 USA South) will travel to Meredith College on Tuesday evening for a 5:30pm match-up with the Avenging Angels. The game is a make-up of last week's contest that was postponed due to snow.
