Bell and Harris Sweep USA South Weekly Awards

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its weekly awards for women's basketball, with North Carolina Wesleyan senior Tiffany Bell and freshman Kenyata Harris sweeping league honors. For the first time in her career, Bell was named the conference's Player of the Week, while Harris picked up her third Rookie of the Week accolade of the season.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Tiffany Bell, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior guard from Waldorf, Maryland averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block per contest as the Bishops compiled a 2-0 record last week. In a 79-56 win over Greensboro, Bell totaled 25 points, nine assists, three assists, two blocks and one steal. In a 69-58 victory over Averett, Bell scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists and collected one steal.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Kenyata Harris, N.C. Wesleyan - The Raleigh, North Carolina freshman guard averaged a double-double of 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to go along with 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game last week versus USA South competition. In the Bishops' win over Greensboro, Harris totaled 18 points, seven rebounds, four blocks and two steals. In the Averett victory, Harris tallied a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds to go along with two blocks, one assist and one steal.
