Rocky Mount, N.C. - The women's basketball team of N.C. Wesleyan recognized its 2014 senior class on Sunday afternoon prior to taking on Ferrum College. Playing their final game in Everett Gymnasium were four-year letterwinners Tiffany Bell, Monet Edwards, Shanice Goree, Jaleesa Honesty and Kourtney Salisbury, who combined for over 3,000 points in their Bishop careers.

Wesleyan went on to drop a 70-49 decision to the Panthers, who clinched the USA South regular season championship with the win. Previously on Saturday, Wesleyan downed Mary Baldwin by a 78-50 score and will now enter next weekend's USA South Tournament as the North Division's #4 seed.

Against Ferrum, the Bishops played strong defensively but were unable to overcome a poor shooting performance, connecting on just 20-of-69 shots from the floor for 29 percent accuracy. Bell led all scorers with 14 points and was joined in double-figures by Goree and junior NeTaih Davis with 10 points apiece.

Versus Baldwin on Saturday, Wesleyan forged a 38-25 halftime advantage and went on to lead by as many as 35 in the final period behind 50 percent shooting as a team. Bell again paced the Bishops with 17 points, while Davis and Goree chipped in 16 and 10, respectively.

Additionally, Salisbury netted 13 points of her own, and she and Honesty dished out four assists apiece. Edwards added eight points, five rebounds and five steals.

As the North Division's #4 seed, the Bishop (12-13) will take on the South Division's #1 seed, Maryville College, in the first round of the tourney. Tip-off is slated for Thursday at 3:00pm on the campus of top-seeded Ferrum College.
