Bell, Harris Earn USA South Postseason Accolades

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2013-14 All-Conference awards for women's basketball. A total of 28 student-athletes were named to various teams, with N.C. Wesleyan having three Bishops garner accolades. Senior Tiffany Bell became the first Bishop in over a decade to earn First Team honors, while freshman Kenyata Harris picked up one of the league's major awards by being named Rookie of the Year. Freshman Jordan Cager rounded out Wesleyan's honorees as a member of the All-Sportsmanship team.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., Harris becomes the first Bishop to earn USA South Rookie of the Year honors since the 1998-99 season. The versatile guard has averaged a USA South co-rookie-best 12.8 points to go along with 8.3 rebounds per contest this season, which both rank in the league's top-ten. In conference play, she averaged a near double-double with 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Harris earned Third Team All-Conference accolades to go along with four USA South Rookie of the Week honors this winter.

Bell, who hails from Waldorf, Md., ranked second in the league in scoring during the regular season by averaging 17.6 points per game. The talented shooting guard added nearly six rebounds, two assists and two steals per contest en route to her first First Team nod and second career honor overall. Bell made Bishop headlines back on February 5th when she became the 12th member of N.C. Wesleyan's 1,000-point club, and she currently ranks sixth in scoring all-time.

Elsewhere around the league, Maryville College's Mackenzie Puckett was named the Player of the Year and Ferrum College's Bryan Harvey collected Coach of the Year accolades. To view the entire USA South All-Conference team in women's basketball, please visit www.usasouth.net.
