Rocky Mount, N.C. - Sophomore Kenyata Harris turned in a season-high 24 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday to lead her N.C. Wesleyan women's basketball team to a 64-54 USA South victory over Huntingdon College in Everett Gymnasium. Harris narrowly missed a second straight double-double on Sunday with a 9-point, 10-rebound effort in the Bishops' 75-55 loss to LaGrange.

In the Huntingdon victory, Wesleyan never trailed in the first half and opened up a 34-27 lead at the break.

The Hawks took their first lead of the contest, 45-43, on a Jai'lyn Lover trey with 11 minutes to go in regulation. The two teams then traded baskets before back-to-back jumpers by Harris put Wesleyan back on top 49-47 at the 9:08 mark.

Although the Bishops would not trail again, the game got interesting down the stretch when a bucket by the Hawks' Tan Munford made the score 56-54 with 4:08 remaining. The Bishops, however, closed out the game with a 9-1 run to secure the 10-point victory.

Sophomore Jordan Cager and senior NeTaih Davis joined Harris in double-figures with 19 and 11 points, respectively. The duo also combined for 15 rebounds and four assists.

On Sunday versus LaGrange, Wesleyan took an 18-17 lead midway the period on a three-pointer by freshman Synquis Strothers. Unfortunately, the Panthers reeled off the game's next 12 points to take a double-digit lead that they would not relinquish.

Strothers finished with a career-high 16 points, while Davis chipped in 13.

Wesleyan (4-11, 2-8 USA South) continues league play on Wednesday when the Bishops travel to Methodist University for a 7:30pm tilt with the rival Monarchs.
