RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's basketball team fell on the road at conference rival William Peace University (N.C.) 81-66 on Wednesday evening.

Peace got out to a 16-8 lead after the first quarter as the Bishops struggled to make shots. A competitive second quarter then saw Peace take a 33-22 lead into the halftime break. Peace shot 46 percent in the first half while holding the Bishops to just 21 percent shooting and zero three-pointers.

Wesleyan would then find their shooting stroke in the third quarter shooting 45 percent while scoring 29 points. However, Peace also shot the ball well at 53 percent in the third to put up 26 points and lead 59-51. After Wesleyan would trim their deficit down to 4 points early in the fourth, Peace would then go on a 22-15 run to take the game holding NCWC under 30 percent shooting in the fourth.

Sophomore guard Keorra Taylor led Wesleyan with a season-high of 15 points and a team-best of 4 assists and 2 steals. Guards Kayla Johnson and Jermaiyah Baker also scored in double-figures with Johnson adding 11 with 2 steals while Baker scored 10 with 3 rebounds and a team-best 3 steals.

Defensively, senior forward Weslie Young led the way with nine rebounds and a block while sophomore forward Javana Jones added a team-best 2 blocks with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 7 points. Senior guard Nadiya Holley also added 9 points and 7 rebounds.

Wesleyan falls to 10-14 overall and 8-7 in the conference while Peace improves to 14-9 overall and 10-5 in the USAS East Div.
