Hot Streak Continues as Bishops Take Down Fighting Squirrels to Win 3rd Straight

STAUNTON, VA - The Lady Bishops continued their win streak on Saturday afternoon by never trailing at Mary Baldwin, winning 72-56.

Forwards Kayrisma Harrison and Nadia Simmons led the way once again by contributing 16 and 15 points each for the ladies.  However, rebounding was the story of the game.

To go along with her 15 points, Harrison had a monster afternoon on the boards collecting 13 rebounds as she has done in her past few games. Wesleyan outrebounded Mary Baldwin 50-31 and was also able to stay out of foul trouble by doing so.

NCWU  committed just 10 fouls in the entire game and only allowed Mary Baldwin two free throw attempts for the game as the women played disciplined defense and got fast break opportunities without fouling.

The bench has also gotten hot, as of late, by scoring 33 points today including 13 from Corynthian Williams. Having reliable players off the bench can contribute right away is a coaching dream, and has definitely contributed to the hot streak the women are currently on.

Another solid game for the Bishops was Kaniya Cromartie who had 9 points and pulled down 10 rebounds coming off the bench.

The Bishops are back in action Wednesday night at Greensboro College with tip-off scheduled for 7 PM.
