Samantha Urquhart enters her third season on the N.C. Wesleyan coaching staff after returning to her alma mater in the fall of 2014 as an assistant coach. A four-time Most Valuable Player for the Battling Bishops, the Franklin, Va. native enjoyed a stellar Wesleyan career both on and off the court.
As a member of the women's basketball program, Urquhart was a four-year starter and three-year team captain during her NCWC tenure. She finished her career as the program's 7th all-time leading scorer with 1,125 points and 2nd all-time leading rebounder with 772 boards, just 13 shy of the NCWC record. Additionally, the three-time All-Conference player and two-time NCWC Student-Athlete of the Year set a new program best for career free throws made with 386.
Off the court, Uquhart was voted Senior Class President and excelled in the classroom as a four-time USA South Academic All-Conference honoree. A 2013 graduate of the College with a degree in Elementary Education, she is a current member of Omircon Delta Kappa, a National Leadership Honor Society.
