NCWC and Piedmont to Shave Heads in Support of Kids vs. Cancer

Rocky Mount, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan Baseball is teaming up with the Vs. Cancer Foundation to help kids beat cancer right in our community. The Bishops have set aside Saturday's game versus Piedmont College as their promotion day for this worthy cause. Members of both teams will be shaving their heads at the conclusion of the game to show their support. Game time is currently set for 1:00pm at Bauer Field.

NCWC head coach Charlie Long indicated that our local Englewood Barbershop will be in assisting the efforts, as well as a representative from the Vs. Cancer Foundation. Other area barbers have also been invited to help.

Said Long, "After the game, some of our players will be shaving their heads and some will be getting regular haircuts in support of children who lose their hair during chemo. Piedmont head coach Jim Peeples says he has about 20 of his guys participating, and we appreciate their willingness to join us in this cause."

The Bishops, who began fundraising for the event in early January, are just over $1200 from reaching their fundraising goal of $7000, and it's not too late to contribute! Start by making a donation now, and help us spread the word! Also, don't forget that the Bishops have partnered with Bishop alum Steve Felton in this fundraising effort.
