All-Conference Awards Announced in Men's Hoops

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South announced it postseason men's basketball awards on Wednesday, and North Carolina Wesleyan had a trio of student-athletes earn accolades. Domarius Thomas was a First Team All-Conference selection, while fellow senior Matt Dougherty grabbed Honorable Mention status.  John Kostet rounded out Wesleyan's award-winners as the Battling Bishops' representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., Thomas becomes a two-time All-Conference selection having garnered Second Team honors as a junior. He led the Bishops in scoring this season at 13.3 points per game, which ranked 10th in the league, and he topped the USA South in field goal percentage at over 60 percent accuracy.  Thomas also pulled down nearly seven rebounds per game, which ranked seventh in the conference.  He recently completed his stellar four-year Wesleyan career with over 1,100 points and 600 rebounds.

Dougherty, who hails from Ayden, N.C., earned Honorable Mention status after averaging 11.9 points for game, which was 15th in the league and 2nd on the team. He led the Bishops this season in three-pointers made (47), free throw percentage (88.5), assists (61) and steals (37).

A product of Lulea, Sweden, Kostet was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time in his career.
