Wesleyan Hoops Opens with Exhibition at UNCW

Wilmington, N.C. - Tanner Milson's game-high 19 points led three Seahawks in double figures as UNC Wilmington downed visiting North Carolina Wesleyan, 90-51, in a men's college exhibition game on Saturday at Trask Coliseum.

Joining Milson in double figures was junior guard Chris Dixon with 11 points and sophomore forward Cedric Williams with 10. UNCW shot 63.2 percent from the field, including 64.7 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Chris Ford was the only NCW player in double digits with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field.

UNCW never trailed in the game and used a 20-7 run midway through the opening half to open a 27-15 lead. A free throw from Williams with 46 seconds remaining gave the Seahawks a 41-21 lead, their largest lead of the half. A jumper by senior center Matt Wilson gave UNCW's largest lead of the game, 88-48, with 1:54 left in the contest.

Up front, the Seahawks held a 45-20 advantage on the boards and outscored the Battling Bishops 44-22 in the paint.

Wesleyan will face off against Mid-Atlantic Christian in its season opener on November 15th. Tip-off is slated for 7:30pm in Everett Gymnasium.
