Elizabeth City, N.C. - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball team used a total team effort to secure a 24-point win over Mid-Atlantic Christian on Saturday, downing the Mustangs by a 77-53 score in Elizabeth City.

The win moves the Bishops to 7-0 on the season, marking the third best start in program history and the best since 2008-2009 when the Bishops started 8-0 en route to a top-25 national ranking.

Head Coach John Thompson was able to clear in bench in Saturday's win as 12 different players found the scoring column. Sophomore Brandon Givens led the way with a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds. Junior Josh Morrison joined him in double-figures with 12 points, while freshman Evan Collins turned in a solid game with a career-high eight assists.

As a team, the Bishops shot over 45 percent from the floor and held MACU to just 29.8 percent accuracy.

The Bishops will now break for exams before opening USA South Conference play on the road next Sunday versus Maryville College. Tip-off is slated for 2:00pm.
