Bishop Men Suffer Hoops Loss at Coastal Carolina

Conway, S.C. - The men's basketball team of N.C. Wesleyan traveled to Coastal Carolina on Thursday night, suffering an 89-54 loss to the Division I Chanticleers. The Bishops trailed just 35-26 at the break, but CCU shot 60 percent from the floor in the second half to pull away.

The first half saw NCWC take its first lead of the contest, 10-8, on a three-pointer by senior David Gurganus at the 15:39 mark.  The next four minutes featured three lead changes and a tie before the Chanticleers' Josh Cameron nailed a trey that put his team up for good with 12:30 left in the period.

Cameron's three-ball was one of 13 for Coastal on the night, six of which came during a dominant second half.

Sophomore Brandon Brown paced Wesleyan with a team-high 11 points and nine rebounds, while senior Josh Morrison added nine points of his own.

The Bishops (3-4) will now break for exams before returning to action on December 14th at home versus Mid-Atlantic Christian. Tip-off is slated for 3:00pm in Everett Gymnasium.
