Raleigh, N.C. - Senior Josh Morrison notched a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds to help lead his N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball squad to a 68-56 victory at William Peace University on Tuesday night. Morrison netted 10 of his points in the second half to help turn a 33-28 halftime lead into a 12-point win.

While William Peace is a USA South opponent, this game will not be counted towards either team's conference record in order to compensate for unbalanced scheduling. The USA South's North Division has six participating men's basketball programs, whereas the South Division has only five.

After the Pacers tied the game at 39-39 with 13:59 to go, Morrison knocked down a pair of free throws that ignited a 14-2 Bishop run over the next five minutes. WPU would get no closer than eight points the rest of the way, as Wesleyan went 6-of-8 at the charity stripe in the final minute to secure the win.

Brandon Brown and Devontae Williams joined Morrison in double-figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively, while fellow sophomore D.J. Weaver chipped in 11 of his own. Junior Isaac Brown also hauled in 10 rebounds, all on the offensive glass.

As a team, Wesleyan shot over 48 percent from the floor on the night and held a 47-36 advantage on the boards.

The Battling Bishops (5-6) officially open up USA South play on Sunday with a 3:00pm road contest at Piedmont College.
