Montgomery, Ala. / LaGrange, Ga. - The men's basketball team of North Carolina Wesleyan dropped a pair of USA South road contests this weekend, falling 95-92 at Huntington College on Saturday and 100-76 at LaGrange College on Sunday. Sophomore Devontae Williams averaged 17 points and eight rebounds over the two games.

At Huntingdon (3-11, 2-3 USA South), the Hawks shot nearly 50 percent from the floor and poured in 56 points in the second half alone to erase a 43-39 NCWC lead at the break.

A tight game throughout, Bishop freshman Marcus Williams nailed a pair of three-pointers in the final 27 seconds to make the score 93-92 with 12 ticks left on the clock. After a pair of made free throws by Huntingdon gave the Hawks a 3-point cushion, senior David Gurganus' attempt at a game-tying trey came up short as time expired.

Senior Josh Morrison finished with a team-high 29 points, while Williams (Marcus) netted a career-high 19 of his own. Williams (Devontae) and Jesse Simpson rounded out NCWC's double-figure scorers with 18 and 12, respectively. Williams completed the double-double with 10 rebounds.

Versus LaGrange (11-7, 5-2 USA South), the Bishops again fell victim to a hot-shooting team, as the Panthers connected on over 51 percent of their attempts on the day and never trailed.

Morrison and Williams (Devontae) had 16 points apiece in the losing effort.

The Bishops (7-9, 2-3 USA South) return home to host league rival Methodist University on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
