Hot-Shooting Bishops Down William Peace, 88-71

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The men's basketball team of N.C. Wesleyan cruised to an 88-71 victory over William Peace University in Wednesday night's USA South hoops action at Everett Gymnasium. Senior Josh Morrison and sophomore D.J. Weaver paced Wesleyan with 20 points apiece, combining to go a solid 9-of-12 from behind the arc.

The Bishops never trailed in the contest, building a 51-29 lead at the break and pulling ahead by as many as 34 in the second half. As a team, Wesleyan shot over 61 percent from the floor on the night, knocking down 12 attempts from downtown.

Sophomore Devontae Williams joined Morrison and Weaver in double-figures with 10 points to go along with a game-high seven rebounds. Twelve different Bishops found the scoring column in the contest.

Wesleyan (9-11, 4-5 USA South) returns to action on Sunday with a road contest at Ferrum College. The game is slated for a 3:00pm tip-off.
