Rocky Mount, N.C. - Behind a game-high 19 points from senior Devontae Williams, the N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team picked up a 70-64 victory over Ferrum College on Saturday afternoon in Everett Gym. Williams knocked down the first four shots he took to help the Bishops forge an early 12-2 lead that they would not relinquish.

Thanks to Williams' hot start, NCWC was able to take a 37-24 advantage into the half. Ferrum, however, did not go down without a fight and used a late 9-0 run to get a close a two, 56-54, at the 6:23 mark.

Later, the Bishops would find themselves clinging to 61-60 lead with 1:30 to go. A huge three-pointer from Williams proceeded to put NCWC back up four, and a 6-for-6 showing at the charity stripe in the final minute would eventually seal the Bishops' fifth straight victory.

Williams completed the double-double with 13 rebounds, and he was joined in double-figures by senior D.J. Weaver and sophomore Marcus Williams with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Marvin Wilson paced Ferrum (7-5, 2-1 USA South) with 13 points on the day.

Wesleyan improves to 9-4 on the season, 2-0 in conference action. The Bishops will host key league match-ups with Maryville and Covenant next Friday (7:30pm) and Saturday (4:00pm) in Everett Gym.
