Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2015-2016 All-Conference awards for men's basketball with a total of 26 student-athletes earning recognition. North Carolina Wesleyan had four players honored, in addition to their head coach John Thompson who was named the league's Coach of the Year.

Thompson, in his 21st season as the head of the Battling Bishops, collects the fourth USA South Coach of the Year honor of his career. After being picked to finish second in the Preseason USA South Coaches Poll, Thompson's team posted a 12-2 league mark to earn the program's seventh regular season league crown. The 12 conference victories tied a program record originally set by the 1987-88 N.C. Wesleyan squad. Thompson, who picked up the 300th victory of his career earlier in the season, now takes the Bishops into this year's USA South Conference Tournament as the top-seeded team and host.

The veteran coach had four players also garner accolades. Senior Brandon Brown and sophomore Adrian Moore were each named First Team All-Conference selections, while senior D.J. Weaver joined them as a Second Teamer. Moore averaged over 17 points per game during conference play this season, while Brown and Weaver each netted over 15 points per contest. All three ranked in the USA South's top-10 in scoring, with Moore and Weaver also achieving similar rankings in field goal percentage.

Rounding out Wesleyan's honorees was senior Shannon Huff as a member of the league's All-Sportsmanship team.

Elsewhere around the conference, Maryville College's Spencer Shoffner was named Player of the Year and William Peace University's Dakota King earned Rookie of the Year honors.

The 2016 USA South Conference Tournament tips off on Thursday at 1:00pm with #3 Greensboro versus #6 Piedmont in Everett Gym. After additional games at 3:00pm and 5:00pm, the top-seeded Bishops will face off with #8 Averett University in the final game of the night at 7:00pm.

No pass lists will be honored for this USA South event. Tickets are $6/person, $3/student with ID. For more information, please visit the official tourney website at http://usasouth.net/championships/mbkb/index.
