ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - NC Wesleyan men's basketball senior guard Damon McDowell was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Tuesday for his stellar performances on the court for the 15th ranked Bishops last week.
McDowell broke 30 points twice in a 3-0 week for #15 North Carolina Wesleyan. He averaged 29 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while shooting 50% from three.
The highlight of the week was a monster performance to seal the second win against William Peace. McDowell scored 33, including the game-winner in the final second, on 14-of-23 shooting to secure an 82-81 win.
He also scored 38 points in the blowout win at home over Peace on Friday and helped the team to a win over defending division champion Averett last week with 17 points as well.
McDowell will lead the Bishops back into action on Friday afternoon when they travel to take on Pfeiffer at 2:30 PM.
