Bishops Fall in Final Seconds 64-61 against Mary Washington

Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Men's Basketball team played Mary Washington University this evening and fell short by the score of 64-61 in the last seconds of the game.

The Battling Bishops scored on a three-point shot to begin the game and then saw Mary Washington go on a 16-0 run before the Bishops were able to get back on the scoreboard. The Eagles of Mary Washington would continue to have a strong offensive performance taking a score of 32-22 going into halftime.

The Men of North Carolina Wesleyan Basketball showed true grit and battled in the second half trading shot-for-shot but ultimately coming up short in the last seconds of the game. Bishops fall to Mary Washington 64-61.

Bishops senior Isaiah Lewis, the forward from Knightdale, NC, would finish the game with 20 points, having an 8 for 17 and 1-2 behind the arc shooting performance while adding 9 rebounds defensively. Junior Khalid Hines, the guard from Greensboro, NC, would add 14 points on a 4 for 7 shooting performance, while being 1 for 2 from behind the arc. 

The Battling Bishops will travel to Greensboro to play Guilford College this Wednesday, November 16th, at 7:00 pm.
