Rocky Mount, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan's 2018 women's lacrosse season came to an end on Saturday as the Bishops fell to LaGrange College by a 17-4 score on a rainy afternoon at Scalf Field.  Alexandra Cucinotta notched three goals and an assist in the loss, wrapping up a stellar freshman campaign that saw her shatter the program's season record for draw controls (106) and tally the second most goals in NCWC history (56).

The Panthers (6-9, 3-5 USA South) raced out to a 7-0 advantage on Saturday before back-to-back goals from Cucinotta cut the deficit to five. LaGrange added a goal before the break to take an 8-2 lead into intermission, later opening the second half with a trio of unanswered scores. Ariana Aysanoa connected on a goal at the 24:12 mark on an assist from Cucinotta to make the score 11-3, and Cucinotta later tallied an unassisted score with just over 18 minutes remaining to complete Wesleyan's scoring.

LaGrange score the final four goals of the match to secure the 17-4 final as the game was called with 11:15 remaining due to rain and worsening field conditions. Madeline Lacavera paced the Panthers with seven goals and two assists on the day, while Bishop goalie Ashlee Johnson made eight saves in net.

Wesleyan completes the season with a 1-15 overall record.
