Meredith Storms Past Bishops

RALEIGH, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan College women's lacrosse team battled the best team in the USA South, Meredith College, on Saturday and fell 22-0 on the road.

Meredith got out to a fast start as they led 12-0 halfway through the first half. The Bishops would then hold the Angels to just 4 goals and only 9 shots in the second half. Wesleyan also got 5 shots off in the second half while gathering 5 ground balls and holding Meredith to just six.

Sophomore midfielder Ali Cucinotta led with three shots on goal and three ground balls along with 2 caused turnovers while freshmen Kailey Andrasko and Grace Look each won two draw controls apiece. Andrasko and freshman Karlee Bjurstrom each caused a turnover.

The Bishops fall to 0-5 with the loss while Meredith improves to 5-0. Wesleyan is back in action on Wednesday to host Marietta College (OH) at 4 PM.
