ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's lacrosse team dropped their conference game vs. West Division foe Huntingdon College (Ala.) 14-7 at home on Saturday afternoon.

Wesleyan got out to a fast start scoring 10 seconds into the game on a goal from freshman attacker Grace Look.

However, the Hawks would then go on a 6-0 run over the next 14 minutes to lead 6-1 and force the Bishops into a timeout. Wesleyan would begin to rally scoring the next two goals from sophomore midfielder Ali Cucinotta and freshman attacker Madeline Graham to trail 6-3 with 7 minutes left in the half. HC would then get back on the board after a 10 minute scoring drought to eventually lead 9-4 at halftime. Wesleyan used a goal from freshman Kailey Andrasko late in the half as well.

The second half then featured 8 total goals with HC just out-scoring the Bishops 5-3. Huntingdon extended their lead to 12-5 midway through the second half before the Bishops would rally again scoring back-to-back goals from Look and fellow freshman Madison O'Neill to make it 12-7. After a HC timeout, the Hawks would then end the scoring for the day with two more goals.

Wesleyan outshot the Hawks 15-14 in the second half while winning 12 total draws and picking up 22 ground balls. However, Wesleyan would miss 6 of their 8 free position shots in the second half which contributed to stalling their comeback attempt.

Graham and Look each finished with two goals apiece on the day while Graham also led with 6 ground balls and caused two HC turnovers. Cucinotta also led with 7 draw control wins while collecting 3 ground balls and causing two turnovers. Freshman goalie Millenia Crespo also made 11 saves on 25 shots on goal.

The Bishops are back in action on Sunday to host Brevard College at 1:00 PM.
