Lacrosse Falls at Methodist

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College lacrosse team dropped their road game at rival Methodist University on Saturday 21-6.

After MU got out to a quick 2-0, lead, sophomore midfielder Ali Cucinotta scored on a free shot to cut it in half at 2-1. Unfortunately for the Bishops, the Monarchs would go on to score the next 6 goals in a row to increase their lead. Wesleyan would then come back and score 2 of the next 3 goals to trail 9-3 with 8 minutes to play.

MU would then press on the gas and increase their lead to 10 at the half leading 13-3 before winning the second half 8-3 as well.

Wesleyan would get second half goals from freshmen attackers Grace Look and Madeline Graham as well as another free shot goal from Cucinotta. Look and fellow freshman Kailey Andrasko also scored for the Bishops in the first half. Graham also added an assist and three draw control wins while Cucinotta led the team with 8 draw wins and 2 caused turnovers.

Freshman goalie Millenia Crespo ended up making 17 saves with 4 ground balls as the Bishops fall to 3-12 on the season and 3-6 in the conference. Methodist improves to 5-7 overall and 4-5 in the USA South.

The Lady Bishops finish out their home schedule on Tuesday when they host Averett University at 4 PM.
