Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its awards for the week of March 26th with a pair of Battling Bishop athletes garnering recognition in their respective sports of softball and men's tennis.
Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
Beth Braswell, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Princeton, North Carolina earned a complete-game victory versus USA South foe Greensboro in her only appearance in the circle for the Battling Bishops last week. In the 8-1 win, Braswell allowed one run on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Aditya Iyer, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Pune, India earned a 2-0 singles and doubles record last week for the Battling Bishops in two matches versus USA South foe William Peace. The singles victories were at the number-two and three positions while the doubles wins were at the number-one and two spots with J.D. Telles.
