Rocky Mount, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan suffered a trio of losses on Wednesday afternoon, as baseball and lacrosse dropped home decisions, while women's tennis fell on the road.

In non-conference baseball action, the Bishops suffered a 4-3 loss to Stevenson University at Bauer Field. Junior Hayden Williams drove in a pair of runs in the first inning for an early 2-1 lead, and sophomore J.J. Rodriguez later made it 3-2 in favor of the Bishops with an RBI-single in the third. Starting pitcher Jackson Pleasant made the lead stand up until the fifth and sixth innings when the Mustangs were able to plate single runs for a 4-3 advantage.

SU's Alec Romanowski did the rest on the mound, going the distance and retiring the final 11 batters he faced en route to the win. Williams finished with two of the Bishops' eight hits as a team.

Over at Scalf Field, Wesleyan dropped a 20-8 decision to USA South foe Greensboro College. The Pride opened up a 13-2 lead at the half, and although the Bishops would battle GC to a 7-6 score in the final 30 minutes, the initial deficit proved too much to overcome.

Sophomore Connor Wright managed a trio of scores, while Tikeyah Shaw and Haley Hopkins notched two goals apiece. Jade Gold dished out two assists and collected seven draw controls on the day.

Women's tennis wrapped up the day with a non-conference tilt at Guilford College, falling 6-3. After falling behind 3-0 in doubles play, the Bishops battled back in singles action as Samia Kacher, Tori Jones and Bristy Parker won at the #1, #3 and #4 flights, respectively. Kacher and Parker won in straights, while Jones was victorious in a 10-7 tiebreak.

Both baseball and women's tennis return to action this weekend on the road in USA South play. Baseball will travel to Maryville College for a three-game set, and women's tennis heads to Piedmont and LaGrange.
