Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for April 8th, and two Battling Bishops earned honors in their respective sports. Junior Will Beasley picked up his first career Pitcher of the Week award in baseball, while senior Artsiom Prostak was named Player of the Week in men's tennis.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Will Beasley, N.C. Wesleyan - The Goldsboro, North Carolina junior earned a complete-game shutout win in a 1-0 victory over USA South rival Christopher Newport in his only appearance last week. Beasley allowed four hits and five walks with four strikeouts.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Artsiom Prostak, N.C. Wesleyan - The Minsk, Belarus senior earned a 2-0 record at both the #1 singles and #3 doubles positions last week. In singles play, Prostak's victories came over opponents from USA South foes Methodist and Greensboro. In doubles action, Prostak teamed with both Panayot Kusidi and Clifton Lesak to earn the wins.
