Women's Soccer & Volleyball to Support Pink Projects

Rocky Mount, N.C. - October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and our North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer and volleyball teams are doing their parts to support this worthy cause.  Soccer will be hosting its annual "Think Pink" day on Thursday, October 11th, when they take the field versus Hollins at 4:00pm.  Volleyball has planned a "Dig Pink" night for Wednesday, October 17th, when they host Meredith College at 7:00pm.

Both teams will be sporting various forms of pink attire... from warm-up shirts and shoelaces to wristbands and ribbons... our Battling Bishops plan to fill their respective venues with pink, and they need the help of our fans to do so!  All parents, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear pink to these two games to show their support and/or consider giving a monetary donation during the contest.

The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is a collaboration of national public service organizations, professional medical associations, and government agencies working together to promote breast cancer awareness, share information on the disease, and provide greater access to services.

Since its inception more than 25 years ago, NBCAM has been at the forefront of promoting awareness of breast cancer issues and has evolved along with the national dialogue on breast cancer. NBCAM recognizes that, although many great strides have been made in breast cancer awareness and treatment, there remains much to be accomplished. Today, they remain dedicated to educating and empowering women to take charge of their own breast health.

Although October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, NBCAM is dedicated to raising awareness and educating individuals about breast cancer throughout the year. They encourage you to regularly visit the sites below to learn more about breast cancer, breast health, and the latest research developments.
