Pair of Battling Bishops Earn USA South Weekly Accolades

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for October 19th with a pair of Battling Bishop athletes earning honors in their respective sports of men's soccer and volleyball. Senior Joe Storer was named soccer's Defensive Player of the Week, while junior Christina Huber received the same recognition in volleyball.

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Joe Storer, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior defender from Alfreton, England helped the Bishop defense turn in a 3-0 shutout win over USA South foe William Peace in the team's only action of last week. He also added the second goal of the match in the 22nd minute.

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Christina Huber, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior libero from Virginia Beach, Virginia averaged 5.75 digs per set as the Bishops posted a 2-0 record last week. In a 3-1 win over USA South foe Greensboro, Huber totaled 23 digs, two assists and one kill. In a 3-1 victory over Guilford, Huber notched 23 digs and three assists.
