Jetanna McClain played volleyball, basketball and softball for
the Battling Bishops, but volleyball is the sport in which she
excelled. She led the volleyball team to an NCAIAW III
Championship in 1980 and then to the AIAW Region II
Tournament where she was named to the All-Tournament
Team.
In both 1979 and 1980, McClain was named the Region II
Tournament’s Most Valuable Player, as well as the NCWC
Outstanding Female Athlete.
McClain also left her mark as a coach at Wesleyan, serving as
the head coach for both volleyball and softball teams from 1987
through 1990. She is a 1981 graduate of the College and has
her #11 volleyball jersey retired.
