Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for March 18th, and N.C. Wesleyan freshman Ciro Norzagaray of baseball has picked up his third Rookie of the Week award. Norzagaray's previous two honors saw him recognized as the league's Rookie Pitcher of the Week.
A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Norzagaray went 6-for-15 (.417) with one run scored, one run batted in and four walks in a 2-2 week for the Bishops. In a 4-3 loss versus Stevenson, Norzagaray was 1-for-3, while in a three-game series win over USA South foe Maryville, he was a combined 5-for-12 with one run scored, one RBI and four walks.
