Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Battling Bishop baseball team of N.C. Wesleyan returned to the win column on Tuesday afternoon with a  thrilling 2-1 walk-off win versus Emory & Henry College at Bauer Field. Second baseman Marcus Anderson delivered a bases loaded single to right in the bottom of the ninth that plated sophomore Will Graves with the winning run, igniting a Bishop celebration down the first baseline.

The contest proved to be a pitcher's dual from the start as NCWC freshman Nick Henry battled E&H's Chase Kirk. Both starters received no decisions, with Henry allowing one run on seven hits over seven complete. Kirk scattered six hits and struck out three in six innings of work.

The Wasps' lone run came in the fourth after Branson Christopher walked and eventually came around to score on a Carson Bryant single to left-center. Wesleyan later knotted the score in the eighth on a perfectly executed squeeze by Marcus Kornegay that scored Anderson.

Senior George Moore (2-1) tossed a scoreless ninth to set up a walk-off opportunity for the Bishops. James Kornegay drew a walk to lead off the frame, and pinch hitter Lee Dunn promptly singled to right. A passed ball then forced an intentional walk to NCWC freshman Jefferson Knight, loading the bases with no outs. E&H managed a force out at home on the game's next play, but Anderson promptly delivered the walk-off single to right to seal the victory.

Anderson, Kaelan Jacobs and James Kornegay each tallied two hits apiece for the Bishops, who ripped ten hits as a team.

Wesleyan plays at home again on Thursday when the Bishops host Cortland State at 4:00pm.
