USA South Announces 2015 All-Conference Awards

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced is 2015 postseason awards in baseball with a total of 43 student-athletes garnering recognition. The Bishops had a trio of players honored, led by junior Ciro Norzagaray's Second Team selection.

A shortstop who hails from Mexico City, Norzagaray led the Battling Bishops in nearly every offensive category this spring, including batting average, hits, doubles, triples, homers, RBIs, total bases and slugging percentage. His .405 batting average ranked 3rd in the USA South, while on the mound, he posted a 3.6 earned run average in conference play. With this year's Second Team honor, Norzagaray is now a three-time All-Conference performer during his career.

Joining him as an Honorable Mention selection was sophomore outfielder Justin DiSanto, who ranked second on the team with a .327 batting average and 26 runs scored. He led the team in on-base percentage, thanks in part to a team best 28 walks. Defensively, he made just one fielding error in 81 chances.

Rounding out Wesleyan's honorees was sophomore Will Graves on the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.

Elsewhere around the league, Maryville's Nick Dean was named Player of the Year, Methodist's Josh Howard collected Pitcher of the Year honors, and his coach, Tom Austin, picked up Coach of the Year accolades. Finally, Covenant's Caleb Bloye was named Rookie of the Year, while Huntingdon's Jared Gonzalez earned Rookie Pitcher of the Year honors.
