Baseball Player of the Week
Brad Pennington, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior infielder from Wilmington, North Carolina went a combined 8-for-14 (.571) with a .625 on-base percentage and a 1.143 slugging percentage to go along with five runs scored, ten RBI, two doubles, two home runs and two walks as the Battling Bishops posted a 4-1 record last week.

In a 4-3, 10-inning, win over Emory & Henry on Wednesday, Pennington had a pinch-hit, two-run, game-tying double, his only at-bat of the day, in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extras. In taking two out of three games from USA South foe Greensboro, Pennington was a combined 7-for-13 with five runs scored, eight RBI, one double, two home runs and two walks.

Pennington beat out 8 other nominees for the award. He is now batting .438 on the season with 3 homers and 20 RBIs along with 19 runs scored through 15 games.

He leads the 12-6 Bishops back into action on Tuesday when they finish their week-long homestand with a non-conference doubleheader vs. D-3 University of Maine at Presque Isle. First pitch is scheduled for Noon.
