ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College Baseball team dropped their non-conference game with Washington & Lee University (Va.) on Tuesday afternoon falling 10-3 at Bauer Field.

Wesleyan got off to a 1-0 lead on a Moses Vigo RBI groundout that brought home SS Alec Titmus in the third inning while Bishop starter Galen Beaver had shut out the Generals over 4 innings.

W&L then got to Beaver for two runs in the 5th to take a 2-1 lead before Bishop senior 2B Brad Pennington crushed a solo home run to left to tie the game at 2.

WLU scratched across two more runs in the 6th inning off Beaver before breaking the game open with a 3-run 7th inning off relievers Zach Woolard and Alex Crosby.

Wesleyan would get one run back in the 8th on an RBI single from sophomore Jackson Murray that scored RF Max Johnson, who had walked and stole a base. W&L put it out of reach in the 9th with 3 more runs.

Beaver got the loss going 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts while reliever Chris Day pitched two innings striking out two, but allowing 3 runs on 4 hits.

WLU improves to 6-0 on the season with the win while Wesleyan falls to 2-8. The Bishops return to action this weekend to host conference foe Brevard College in a three-game series.
