ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College baseball continued their strong hitting smacking five home runs on Sunday at Bauer Field en route to a 15-3 game three win over Pfeiffer University to complete a three-game sweep.

The wins improve the Bishops to 13-9 on the season and 6-0 in the USA South. Pfeiffer drops to 6-9 and 3-3 in conference.

Sophomore 3B Jackson Hobbs hit a three-run bomb in the first inning while junior CF Drifton Padgett would add a two-run shot later in the inning to give Wesleyan a 5-0 lead early. a Tyson Bass solo shot in the 2nd made it 6-0 before Padgett's RBI single in the 2nd made it 7-0 after two.

Pfeiffer would then score three runs over the 3rd and 4th innings to get within four at 7-3, but would get no closer as a Davie Morgan RBI single in the 5th preceded a mammoth three-run homer from sophomore DH Zach Scott putting Wesleyan ahead 11-3.

Morgan then hit a solo shot in the 7th for his third home run of the weekend and 6th on the year. Finally, in the 8th, the Bishops put it out of reach with a Bass RBI single and a Hobbs two-run double.

Senior starting pitcher Drew Tubb threw 4 innings on the day allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with a walk and 7 strikeouts. Junior reliever Chandler Padgett then finished the game throwing 4 scoreless innings allowing just 3hits and 2 walks while striking out three to get the win.

Morgan led the offense on the day with 4 hits and 4 runs scored while Bass and Hobbs each collected three hits apiece. Hobbs led the team with 5 RBIs while Scott and D. Padgett also drove in three each and Bass stole two bases.

The Bishops will return to action next Saturday with a conference DH at Averett University starting at Noon.
