Jackson Hobbs Named 2023 USA South Player of the Year

Macon, GA - Hobbs, a junior first baseman from Brandon, Florida, becomes the fifth Battling Bishop in program history, and first since 1997, to earn USA South Baseball Player of the Year. He led the Conference in several offensive categories during the regular season including hits (65), home runs (10), RBI (57), and total bases (104) while accumulating a .406 batting average, a .456 on-base percentage, and a .650 slugging percentage with 48 runs scored. In USA South games-only, Hobbs posted a .411 batting average, a .449 on-base percentage, and a .667 slugging percentage while leading the League with six home runs, 34 RBI, and 60 total bases. For his efforts, Hobbs earns All-Conference accolades for the second consecutive season while also being named USA South Player of the Week three times.
