Athletic Department Names Zach Lyon Male Student-Athlete of the Year

Rocky Mount, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan baseball student-athlete Zach Lyon has been named the 2023 Male Student-Athlete of the Year. This season, Lyon posted a .380 batting average with 42 RBIs, and 71 hits, which earned him 1st Team All-Conference honors. A Senior from Raleigh, N.C., Lyon has been named to the USA South All-Academic Team four times and is an honoree on NCWU's President's List the past three years. A 2023 All-Region selection by the ABCA and D3Baseball.com, Coach Clifton describes Lyon as "The best young man we have had in our program in the past five years." Lyon is also very involved with NCWU's FCA and is a member of the Society of Leadership and Success.
