Athletic Department Names Payne Stolsworth Male Athlete of the Year

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan athletic department is proud to announce baseball athlete Payne Stolsworth has been named the 2023 Male Athlete of the Year. A Senior from Salisbury, N.C., Stolsworth finished the year as a First-Team All-American by the ABCA and was also selected as an All-American by D3Baseball. In 2023, Stolsworth had the lowest ERA in school history (1.96), tied the school's win record (12-0), and finished sixth all-time in strikeouts. He also is credited with the win in Wesleyan's first NCAA Tournament victory in Rocky Mount since 2006 and started for the Bishops in the Light the Field Dedication.
