Pitchford Named New Dance Team Coach

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - NC Wesleyan College Director of Athletics Aaron Denton has announced the addition of De'Nasia Pitchford as the new Head Dance Coach at North Carolina Wesleyan after being hired in the summer of 2021.

A native of Rocky Mount, De'Nasia is a 2016 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in Sports Administration. While there, Pitchford led the Carolina Football & Basketball Cheer programs' special events from 2012-2016.

De'Nasia then received her Master of Science Degree in Education: Sports Administration from the University of Miami in 2017.

Most recently, De'Nasia was a Promotions Assistant with the Durham Bulls baseball team. During her time with the Bulls, she assisted the on-field operation with all pregame festivities as well as supervised the Wool E. Bull mascot for fan engagement for the past four years.

She has also been the Head Cheer Coach at Nash Central High School in Rocky Mount since the summer of 2017 and the Dance Instructor at the Elite Dance Studio since 2015. While at Nash, De'Nasia led the team to a 3rd place finish in the State Championship Small Varsity Non-Tumble Division and also numerous runner-up finishes in competition.
