Wesleyan Golfers Compete at Royal Lakes Invitational

Flowery Branch, Ga. - North Carolina Wesleyan's golf team was back in action on Monday and Tuesday competing in the Royal Lakes Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe University. The event was held in Flowery Branch, Ga. and featured 94 golfers among 16 teams. Lucas Norman led the Bishops with rounds of 74 and 80 to finish midway the pack at 10-over par.

Also competing for the Bishops were Tommy Nakamura (80-75), David White (83-74), Stephen Bardswick (78-83) and Ben Gillon (83-86). Norman's 74 was a team-best in Monday's opening round, while White's identical tally led Tuesday's final round scores.

As a team, Wesleyan carded rounds of 315 and 312 to finish 14th overall. 

Host Oglethorpe took top team honors with rounds of 292 and 286 (+2), while Southwestern's Tyler Gammill captured medalist honors at 5-under (71-68).

The Bishops will wrap up their fall season on October 27th and 28th at the O'Briant / Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
