Anderson, Bishops Tie for 8th at R-MC's Ted Keller Memorial

Ashland, Va. - NCW's golf team was back in action on Monday and Tuesday, tying for 8th-place at Randolph-Macon's Ted Keller Memorial. Freshman Grady Anderson carded rounds of 74 and 79 to top the Bishop leaderboard.

Anderson's opening day 74 was Wesleyan's low-round of the tourney. Ben Gillon and Tommy Nakamura each turned in a day one 76, while Matthew May's 80 gave the Bishops a team score of 306, placing them 6th overall heading into the final round.

Tuesday saw sophomore David White join Nakamura and Anderson with a round of 79. Gillon's 78 secured a team score of 315 and two-day total of 621, which tied USA South rival Averett University. Anderson finished 21st overall, followed closely by Gillon in 25th.

The two-day event featured 90 golfers among 17 teams. Chrisopher Newport University grabbed top team honors with team scores of 293 and 296, while Brad Lankler of Franklin & Marshall earned medalist recognition with rounds of 68 and 67 to finish 5-under.

Wesleyan is back in action next Monday and Tuesday at Berry College's Chick-Fil-A Intercollegiate at Rome, Ga.'s Stonebridge Golf Club.
