Wesleyan Golf tied for 4th after First day of D3 Invite

Sandestin, Fla. - The NC Wesleyan Golf Team completed their first day at the D3 Golfweek Invitational at the Raven Golf Club in a tie for 4th place with USA South foe Huntingdon College. 

Each team shot rounds of 289 for +5 over par score. Emory University (Ga.) is leading at -12 under par 272.

Pacing the Bishops is senior Grady Anderson who shot an impressive first round 69 (-2) as he is in a tie for 7th place overall out of 90 golfers. Reigning USA South Golfer of the Week Juan de Giacomi then shot a first round 71 as he sits in 15th place. 

Junior Luke Thornton shot a 74 to currently sit in 36th while fellow junior Nico Strafe shot a 75 as he is in 45th place. Mariano Silvestri is then in 68th after his 78.

Round two tees off tomorrow morning.
