--Division III PING All-Region honorees have been announced by the Golf Coaches Assoc. of America (GCAA). A total of 96 players across six regions – Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Great Lakes, Central, and West – earned all-region honors for 2020.
NC Wesleyan sophomore golfer Frankie Schmitt was one of 20 regional golfers named to the PING All-South Region Team that was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
"Frankie was a leader for us all of last season and started out the same way this Spring and I'm glad he gets this recognition, very deserving!" commented head golf coach Gregg Ripke.
Schmitt led Wesleyan with two runner-up individual finishes in the fall as well as three other top 26 finishes in tournaments including an 18th place finish at Wesleyan's last and only event of the spring back in March at the Savannah Invitational.
