ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan University Athletic department and Golf program would like to honor the life of Joann Scalf, the wife of one of Wesleyan's first faculty members and coach, Don Scalf. Mrs. Scalf passed away on Thursday.
"She was like a second mother to several generations of Wesleyan student athletes," commented Wesleyan head golf coach, Mac Sykes. "We will miss her!"
The Scalfs, along with the Bauer and Edge families, were instrumental in laying the academic foundation of North Carolina Wesleyan University. Please keep the Scalf family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
