Rocky Mount, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan honored its 2014 senior class on Saturday afternoon at Scalf Field, but it was the Scots of Covenant College who came away with a 4-1 USA South victory. The loss came on the heels of a thrilling 3-2 double overtime win versus Piedmont on Friday. The pair of games marked the final regular season home contests for seniors Jordan Grantz, Samba Cande, Isai Gonzalez and Joe Storer.

On Saturday versus Covenant, the Scots scored three unanswered goals in the first half en route to a 3-0 lead at the break. Bishop junior Egor Kabalin scored Wesleyan's lone goal in the 63rd minute off an assist from Gonzalez, but the Scots put to rest any thoughts of a comeback with fourth score ten minutes later.

Despite the lop-sided final, NCWC held a 17-16 edge in shots on the day, with freshman keeper Jesper Olsson making six saves in net.

Previously on Friday, Cande (from Caetano Viegas) and sophomore Daniel Kamdem (from Cande) gave the Bishops an early 2-0 lead over Piedmont, but the Lions battled back with a pair of scores of their own to force overtime. In the second OT, sophomore Charles Chapin took a through ball from junior Matt Moore and beat PC keeper Kenneth Hearn to his right for the Golden Goal in the 101st minute.

The Bishops doubled up Piedmont in shots, 24-12, and held a 12-7 advantage in corners. Olsson earned the win in goal with six stops in the match.

Wesleyan (9-5-1, 5-2 USA South) continues league play next Saturday at William Peace University. The match is slated for a 12:30pm start in Raleigh.
