Raleigh, N.C. - The Battling Bishop men's soccer team cruised to a 5-1 USA South victory at William Peace on Saturday afternoon thanks, in part, to a pair of goals from senior Sambe Cande that included the eventual gamewinner. With the win, the Bishops move to 10-5-1 on the season, officially making this the winningnest season of 4th-year head coach Frankie Taal's tenure.

Wesleyan jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half after Charles Chapin and Cande tallied scores in the 28th and 37th minutes, respectively. The first was assisted by freshman Julius Oskarsson, whose saved shot found Chapin's feet in front of the net, and the second saw senior Jordan Grantz credited with an assist.

The Bishops' Daniel Kamdem (from Elias Kerem) and Cande (unassisted) made it 4-0 with goals at 64:59 and 70:44. WPU got on the board with less than 10 minutes left in regulation, but the Pacers were answered with a Caetano Viegas score in the 88th minute.

NCWC keeper Jesper Olsson made two saves en route to the win, as his team out-shot Peace 18-7 on the day.

Now 6-2 in league play, NCWC will wrap up its regular season schedule next weekend at Huntington and LaGrange. The results of the weekend will play a key factor in conference tournament seeding.
