Fayetteville, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team played a pair of overtime matches at this weekend's Soccer Kicks Cancer Invitational hosted by Methodist University. The Bishops fought to a 2-2 double OT draw with John Carroll University on Friday before suffering a 2-1 loss to Marymount in Saturday's first extra frame.

Versus John Carroll, junior Drew Wiltse scored his first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Julius Oskarsson in the 26th minute. Freshman Olafur Einarsson later netted Wesleyan's second goal off a Wiltse assist at 77:21. The goals sandwiched scores by JCU to send the match to OT.

The Bishops held a 5-3 edge in shots in the final 20 minutes, but both team's lone shots-on-goal were saved by NCWC keeper Alex Magner and JCU goalie Zach Fehrenbach, respectively.

Against Marymount on Saturday, Oskarsson netted the equalizer in the 53rd minute to eventually force overtime, but the Saints' Rodney Ngoh later tallied the Golden Goal on a header at 94:29. The Bishops dropped the match despite dominating the shot count at 22-7. Marymount's Logan Cropper racked up 10 saves on the day to keep his team in the match.

Wesleyan (1-3-1) continues play at the University of Mary Washington on Wednesday. The match is slated for 7:00pm.
